Tucked away one block north (308 feet) of historic #Route66 in downtown Waynesville. Ursula’s Schnitzelhaus does not receive the recognition it deserves. Authentic German food served up by a genuine family with a quirkiness that will endear them as characters on the Mother Road. This family has been feeding Waynesville for over 30 years. Their schnitzel sandwich was exactly what I was expecting and hoping for. I happily took the to-go imported Original Oktoberfest beer advice and was not disappointed. The freshest Haribo gummy candies that I have found are for sale in their in-house deli.
We just had lunch there. Excellent food, friendly service. The hot German potato salad was especially delicious. My Keiser hamburger was so big I could barely finish it.
Wow, what a treasure find! We enjoyed the traditional German sausages and goulash. Another table nearby was very pleased with the schnitzel. Cozy atmosphere, family owned and staffed. So pleasant!!
awesome food, tasty like home like I am just to eat back at home In bavaria. Going defensively going back there to eat
Best German restaurant in the Waynesville area to date! They also have a small grocery store where you can find those hard to find items that'll help you make your own dishes ar home. The food is as authentic as you can get and the cook won't let your tastebuds down. Just be sure to leave room for the delicious one of a kind homemade bakery goods she has on hand.
Best German food, we ever had in the whole States, tasted as if my grandma would have cooked it. Ursula was a very friendly and kind host on our journey along the Mother Road ('ol 66). Her German bread saved our lives! Thank you so much, Ursula! God bless you. Greetings from Marburg, Germany!
Good German style food.
