This was a nice place to stop. Restrooms were clean and had automatic flushing, water and soap. There was even a family restroom, it had a bench and separated stall. There is a welcome center, picnic benches to eat at, vending and a space to walk your dogs with complimentary poo bags. Also great for kids to run around. Pretty view, great place to stretch your legs. Easy to pull into and out of.

A beautiful smell and look and sound with the Conifers, stonework and water.

This welcome center rest area was super clean! It felt brand new. Both men and women's restrooms were impressively clean with motion sensor soap, water, and dryers! Pick up your free North Carolina map, enjoy a sack lunch in their nice picnic area, and toss your recycling in the blue bins! Don't forget to snap a selfie here .

After driving up the curvy, winding highway (Interstate 40) and going through tunnels, passing trucks, etc. it was a \welcome\ (pardon the pun) sight to see the rest area on the right at the top of the mountain. Welcome to North Carolina! It was a beautiful morning and there are picnic benches all over the place to enjoy your lunch or just a snack. The restrooms were open and were clean. There are pretty mountain views. What's not to like? There were a few bees near my picnic table but they were just doing their bee thing and not bothering me at all. When I left there were nice people coming up the mountain waving me into traffic. Nice! (Saturday, 5/16/20)
