One of the worst experiences with title company that i have had in over 20 years in real estate business. Months after transaction and still trying to correct their error submitting incorrect info to the county.
Went under contract on a property in October and did not receive title commitment until last week in November. They thought our closing was December 30th when it was actually December 3rd.... could explain why they appear to have sat on the file. We received notification of a delay in closing due to their computer systems and then they were not knowledgeable on how to close a customer with COVID. We in fact had to call another title office for advice. Homeland Title simply said \well we wait until they recover.\ (I have a feeling its because they could not close us due to the issues on their end). However, this was unacceptable and I had to tell them how to move forward (POA). The file ended up closing over a week late. After two closing extensions, the file funded and they will not send the Realtor the HUD1 Settlement Statement as every other title company normally sends once the file funds. The TILA authorization form has been sent and still waiting for the proper documents so the file can be closed out. I am not normally one to write these reviews but I firmly feel that every Realtor, Lender, and potential customer needs to be aware of the lack of knowledge that Homeland Title has along with their lack of timeliness and willingness to go above and beyond.
Very good experience with this company, I was living in another city and unavailable to attend the closing so they were nice enough to send the documents to me in a timely manner to be signed and sent back to be on time for the closing date.
