Weesen 423 mNN is an ancient settlement with many archaeological finds and a long history. When the Walensee was only passable by ships because of the steep mountain slopes on its banks, the place experienced its blossoming time, since the lake was one of the main routes through the Alps. The Walensee takes its name from the whales, secretive stone collectors whose activities were uncanny to the native mountain dwellers, but they collected stones without value and sold them expensive in the cities. at the time, weesen was also a meeting place for many alpine travelers and miners. The place has a very mild climate, here figs, palm trees and even kiwis grow. Tip: Boat trips on the Walensee are a pleasure for young and old
