Finally got to try this place out ... The verdict is, I was very pleasantly surprised. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was just as good. I had a Cappuccino and my GF had I believe \devils Mocha\ (hot chocolate with 2 espresso shots in it) They have games or cards to play if you wanna just chill. The best way to describe this place is Perks from the show Friends.... It's somewhere I can see myself going on a regular basis to just hang out and have a good cup of coffee.... 5 stars people!!!
'A pleasant surprise in the city.' After previewing investment properties in Welland, I needed a quick pick up before heading back to Toronto. I checked for 'espresso near me' on Google and found Black Sheep. Located right beside the Canal, I had no expectations of this cafe. As I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendly baristas and was pleasantly surprised by the space with its rustic & homey decor. A voluminous space with a section where a small band could play in the back (of course once Covid is done). Filled with its merchandise of Black Sheep gear, coffee accessories, and table lined house roasted coffee beans. I ordered a double espresso curious as to how their coffee would taste. Perfection. Thick crema, not too hot and only a hint of bitterness that normally accompanies the taste of espressos. Typically I would add a splash of milk to cut the bitterness, but I figured I'd forego the milk to really taste the espresso. No milk needed for this espresso. Local residents living in Welland are lucky to have a cafe like this. Most smaller towns/cities have the staple Tim Hortons or that 1 Starbucks, but it's not often that you have an independent cafe with diligent coffee enthusiasts that carefully craft a good espresso. Travelling through Welland, if you're looking for a great coffee/espresso, a quick bite, and welcoming greeting, do visit and support this local cafe. Very friendly staff!!! Always see Lucas out interacting within the community and they support a lot of small business throughout the cafe. Super clean, good atmosphere, and good food. Highly recommend! Great to see a business that cares about the community.
The Black Sheep Lounge is a must go to place in Welland. It's got a relaxed atmosphere, great food, and great coffee. Staff are friendly and great to talk to. This place actually roasts their own coffee beans, giving their coffee a flavour that serves up a really unique experience. A great locally owned and operated location.
