What a difference this school has made for my 9 year old son. He is “present” the entire time and the change in his confidence and focus is notable. In my personal experience as a student, it is hard to describe what you get from Quest. There are not many environments aside from home that I can think of where everyone (including other students) are interested in YOUR success. It really is hard to walk out of the place sometimes. The desire to linger is strong. The support system is really special. The teachers and students higher in rank will jump in to help whenever they see someone trying to apply new concepts and maybe don’t have the movement down yet. To also add - no one cares if you are new and mess up the moves. You are supposed to. I was personally worried about looking foolish the first couple of classes, but quickly figured out that it is simply a part of the learning and there was always someone right there to help. From my view, the curriculum is immediately usable and I like that it isn’t a competition martial art. Quest incorporates meditation and philosophy/wisdom that may be used (if you choose) to tackle some of life’s other challenges. Admittedly, I have applied many of these concepts to my personal and professional life. If you have been looking for a great school for your child to learn a martial art or maybe one for yourself, I would like to recommend this one to you.
