I'd shopped at several Nordstrom Rack stores before we got this one in West Des Moines. I was very excited that we finally had one here, but it is clear that corporate isn't providing us the full Rack experience at this location. The store is missing the depth of selection that several Rack stores have and, during the pandemic, there were near-empty clothing racks and walls sparsely displaying a few things--this wasn't the case at other Rack locations I visited in this same time period. I realize that we aren't a larger market like the Twin Cities, Kansas City, or Chicago, but we aren't getting the full effect of what Rack shoppers enjoy in those cities, which is disappointing. Having said this, the associates are friendly and helpful; I've never been here without someone asking if I needed any assistance finding something.

I found the cutest purse for a steal! Annnnnnnd they have little mini bottles of jimmy choo I can carry in my purse!!! It was a win win for my one day out during quarantine.

I absolutely hate the Des Moines store layout. It looks like a Walmart or worse... no rhyme or reason where departments/styles are. Merchandise is always misplaced. It used to be very nice, with sections for types or brands of clothes, high and low presentation, waterfall stands or tee stands to showcase new or special purchases. Even when you opened your first rack in California, and only had merchandise from the actual Nordstrom stores, they looked better than this store. I will no longer shop in store, but will buy online and return things that don’t fit or don’t look like the picture. The staff is very professional and helpful, even when they too cannot easily find merchandise in the store. Close the store and offer free shipping and returns. Use a special Rack box, to gain recognition, like Amazon Smile box. VERY FRUSTRATING SHOPPING EXPERIENCE...

Although we did not buy anything this store was very nice with a massive variety of clothing for everyone both kids and adults. They also have a huge amount of shoes for everyone in the family as well. The store was very large and very clean as well. It’s a great outlet store!!! Better than other ones we have been to in the past.

Meh... like a goodwill but more costly. I dont see the attraction. Go to walmart and save money on better quality and newer style clothes...just my opinion.
