I absolutely love this place. I have had French Onion soup in France. The French Onion soup here beats any I have had and the chicken salad is amazing. Vino209 also sports a small bar which is perfect for me as I am single and eat alone often. When I eat at Vino209, the wait staff make me feel like a part of their family. That is important when you are single, like me. Lovely setting. Friendly staff. The best! Hey Kelly, you know me! I shall return. Had my favorite chicken salad sandwich. Vino209 is hands down one of Des Moines best secrets.

Cute little wine bar! Had a reservation, but didn't even need it as tables were empty early evening during happy hour. Found out they do not have a happy hour drink or food specials & just haven't changed that from online & Open Table. Found a lovely bottle of wine to share. Food was nice, brushetta was very delicious. We had sandwiches they were decent for a deli type sandwich. Noise level was a little loud once other dinners arrived. Staff was very attentive & very impressed that there was only 2 ladies working on a busy Friday evening. Will definitely be back to enjoy another wonderful glass of wine with other friends!

Fantastic dining experience tucked nicely into the valley junction layout. Exquisitely crafted dishes filled with the highest quality ingredients. Try the French Onion soup! Comfortable atmosphere with a superior selection of wines to please any palate. 13/10 would take a date here or treat myself to lunch or an evening glass.

Small, casual space with good service and excellent food. Moderately pricey. Great lunch option in an interesting shopping area.

We went for restaurant week, the food was great. My only complaint is that we ordered a bottle of wine and then two additional glasses of the same wine rather than a whole bottle. These were more expensive than another bottle. If the server would have told us this (since we don't get to keep the menus) we would have gotten another bottle and I would have given them a 5.

Food was great prices are what one would expect 8-10 for appetizers, 10-12 sandwiches etc. Wine was very good. We stopped by for the tasting, tried again red that was so-so and a great Sav Blanc. Bought a bottle for 36 which was about average. Location seats about 30 people total. Quiet and good for conversation. Dessert was really good. Flourless chocolate cake and Turtle Cheesecake. Top notch.

We came to listen to the live music but the food smelled amazing, so I just had the house salad and it was a beautiful presentation. I regret that taking a picture. I was deliciousness.
