Super-friendly, with very good products and top-notch service. When they make syrup, they label each bottle with the day it was processed. They then keep some of each to the side, which they will let you taste to be sure you like the specific syrup you buy. They are also willing to tell you all kinds of information about the process, and you'll leave much better-informed and feeling with a new friend. In addition to Maple syrup, they also serve ice cream. The most novel one is their Maple soft serve, which I haven't seen elsewhere, and is definitely worth trying. The scooped ice cream texture was was also good, the flavor of the two I tried (black raspberry and Maple Walnut) were excellent.

Love it. So relaxing to sit by the fountain and enjoy the beautiful flowers. The maple soft serve is our favorite!

The Sugar House was a surprise. We were just taking a weekend drive on some woodsy roads when we passed what we thought was an ice cream shop. The list of ice cream flavors included maple soft serve. After a sample, I was hooked. Not too sweet, the ice cream was delicious. Then we went inside the house and listened to the owner talk about the history of the place. Samples of maple syrup are available along with information about the grading system. The back room contains the maple syrup equipment and again the owner gave us a brief lesson. There is fresh maple candy for purchase as well as maple syrup. The candies we purchased were made that morning and they just melted the mouth. You can spend time here. There are Adirondack chairs along the woods where you can sit and eat or just enjoy the fresh air. You can even see the tapped trees where the fresh sap for syrup leads right into the house. And there is also a portable bathroom on the premises. Oh yeah, there was also complimentary iced water available. Truly a hidden gem. This will be added to my must do every summer.
