I was referred to Dr. Theodore Dacosta by my primary physician for a medical procedure... my first of any kind. Fortunate so far in life as I am, middle age has now determined that it was time for a colonoscopy... certainly not something that anyone would be looking forward to; especially as their first experience. As I sit here writing this review just hours after the procedure, I regret all the time I wasted having anxiety over it. Their office scheduled the transportation for me, which was on time to the minute this morning in front of my house. I was greeted by the front desk of a very clean and comfortable office, and waited just a few minutes. Being called right at the scheduled start time by the charge nurse to begin preparation, I was treated like a valued patient that they had known for years. After Dr. Dacosta ( Ted as he prefers to called) finished the procedure, I woke up a short time later and was told the specifics of the doctors findings and a general synopsis by the post op nurse. I was then offered refreshments as I was allowed to take all the time I needed to get ready to go. After I was dressed, they actually held the door open for me as the car was waiting to take me home! I mean, I really had no idea service like this existed... I was also given an envelope containing all the specifics of the physicians findings that also included high definition visuals of the actual procedure... I can't imagine anything more they could have done. Dr.Theodore Dacosta and his staff in West Orange... The best people I've met in a long time. Send your loved ones there... you won't be sorry.
The staff was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. I was going to be given information on an elective procedure that I am now very sure that I want to get done. I was hesitant until I spoke with Dr. Dacosta. His ability to set my thought process in the direction of comfort was instantaneous! The simple explanations given to clarify some apparent misperceptions I had about the process had left me with positive assurance that I had certainly went to the right place. I've not yet had the procedure, but after the consultation, my fears have greatly subsided. I was immediately ready to make the appointment to get the procedure done, and am awaiting notification.
