I went into Finer Optics knowing that I needed a new pair of sunglasses, as I was tired of my old style. I have been dedicated to the Maui Jim brand and had looked for retailers of this brand of glasses. I found that Finer Optics had a multitude more options than any other store, so I headed there to find my new stylish sunglasses. When I entered I was warmly greeted by Russ, the store owner. I was nervous about selecting my new shades, as I wanted to make sure they looked good! Russ took this stress right off of my hands. He not only offered suggestions, but explained to me why each pair may or may not look the best. He chose multiple glasses for me to try on and I fell in love with my new pair! Russ was so knowledgeable about (sun)glasses and styles- more than I could ever ask for! On another note, I mentioned that I needed a new prescription. He then told me that he brings in an ophthalmologist (medical doctor who diagnoses and treats all eye diseases, performs eye surgery and prescribes and fits eyeglasses and contact lenses to correct vision problems!) to do eye exams in-office rather than an optometrist (non-medical doctor who provides primary vision care)! I love that he is local, dedicated, and been in business for 25 years! Support local businesses and go see Russ- you won’t regret it!

Been on Clematis since 2005. The couple negative reviews below are so beyond disbelief its laughable. This guy is not only an exceptional retailer and human, he's an important addition of caring and involvement in the street and town for all our sakes, VISIT & SUPPORT. Great dude. Great biz.

Russ was a complete professional. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and took his time showing me a wide variety of frames. I purchased a frame that my mom really liked. I decided to return them as they weren’t exactly what I was looking for but Russ was very understanding and helpful and told me to come back whenever I was ready for to look for a new frame. I will definitely be coming back and recommend Finer Optics to anyone who needs a little direction in picking out new designer frames.
