Mailed my dad who has had a stroke and does not drive far now a ticket for violating two tolls!!! He has never gone to WV and neither has his car especially on a Black Friday during the COVID pandemic!!! They told me very nicely that they had to pull the receipt. Are you kidding me!! Why would he leave on a Black Friday no less to travel from Virginia to West Virginia for no reason!! He was at home and I was there with him and his car with the supposedly toll violations was in the driveway all day and has been since we went on lockdown. This is such a scam from them to get money .

Highway robbery. Place isn’t even listed as a toll bridge on Google and has the audacity to charge a 5 (in)convenience fee on top of the regular 4 toll to pay online since the booths don’t have card readers, and they expect folks to use cash during a National coin shortage. The charges don’t even make sense—going one way I was charged once and told to pay online and told at the following booths I was good. Going the opposite direction they charged at all 3 plazas, despite it being the same road.
Knowingly or intentionally defrauding or attempting to defraud....shall be a misdemeanor and may be subject to a fine.\ So what about a state that defrauds visitors, by not indicating that the interstate they are traveling on is also a toll road and to top it off, doubling the toll for not having cash. Certainly not a way to encourage visitors.
Mailed me a ticket saying I failed to pay at a toll. I have never driven through the state of West Virginia.
WV turnpike authority is an example of another state failure. Customer service is non existent, the employees consistently give false information and when talking with their supervisors it is understandably why the employees are performing poorly, NO LEADERSHIP! No one knows the rules, they expect you to pay for their mistakes, they do not take responsibility for their shortcomings. WARNING get everything in writing! In the 80’s I was a consultant for companies training employees on customer satisfaction and how to retain customers. If I were hired by wv turnpike authority my first action would have been to terminate all the supervisors at all levels, the employees would be provided proper training and they would be giving accurate honest answers and treating customers in a proper manner. WV turnpike authority is a perfect example of why most of the United States think West Virginian’s are uneducated and ignorant.
