My husband and I went through a lengthy process with our architect (Forefront Designs), doing our research on the different contractors out there (and there are a lot!), and then the bidding process on our kitchen & family room addition/renovation, as well as a mudroom and new basement. This was the first time that we ever did an extensive project such as this. Mike was professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, patient, and had an appreciation for the structural integrity of our project as well as the architectural aesthetics of the project (he even added small copper linings to some outside columns to give it an 'old' touch without us asking for it!). We have a 100 year old home, so we also wanted to make sure that the addition flowed well into the old part of the house structurally. MRC's contractors were all professional, respectful, courteous, and diligent - something that was important to me and my husband and 3 young boys, as we remained in the house throughout the project. They did their best to contain dust and debris to the construction area. If you had a question about something, they would speak to you about it.
We also used Mike's recommendation for a kitchen designer, Azzam, and the work we did together produced a beautiful kitchen! Big kudos to Steve, our project manager, who was always available to answer any questions we had, explain a process that we weren't sure about, and ease our way through the process. My 4 year old son even enjoyed 'helping' Alex, who let him hammer or screw something minor in!
During the entire process, neighbors walked by, asked questions, and were very happy to see what we, our architect, and MRC had done together. It was a great collaboration, and my husband and I are extremely happy with the results. When I asked my boys what they thought of our new kitchen and other areas, one of my sons said, "Mama, I don't like it...I LOVE it!" Can't get any better than that!
