I had a terrible experience with neuropsychologist Marianne Chapleau. 2 weeks before the appointment (which was booked 2 months in advance), Marianne sends me an email saying that she is canceling the appointment, with no reasons or explanations! She did not even have the courtesy to call me to cancel and she didn't return any of my calls. She put no effort whatsoever in finding a replacement or trying to reschedule at a closer date. All she said was she's canceling the appointment and I need to contact the clinic to reschedule to 5 months from now. What's the point of scheduling an appointment if you can cancel freely without giving a reason????! What's stopping you from canceling again for the next appointment??? Dr. Marianne Chapleau has shown a serious lack of professionalism and work ethic. I am utterly disappointment with the way my appointment was suddenly canceled without explanation. Marianne is untrustworthy and she clearly does not care about her appointments.

I contacted them in may for a first consult request. They told me to wait. After 1 month with no follow up whatsoever, they said that I had been waiting for no reason and assigned me the same therapist that had me waiting for 1 month... I asked to be assigned someone else (for obvious reason!...) They assigned me an intern with no qualifications for my consult to be reimbursed by my insurance (therapists should be registered under Ordre des psychologues du Qc). I told them this wasn’t working for me, they assigned me.... another intern... ! after almost 2 months of wasting my time, I tell you like it is; go somewhere else...

This was a few years ago so maybe Medipsy has changed, but I doubt it. I went to Medipsy a few years ago to get tested for ADD as an adult. I was told by people working there that they \did not believe in medication as a treatment for ADD\ which spits in the face of half a century of research into extremely well tolerated medicines (such as Ritalin), that can be discontinued at the first sign of a side effect. I was told that I did not have ADD, and that my parents were just putting too much pressure on me. It took me a year, but my family doctor (who has an extensive background in psychology) gave me medication on a trial basis. My depression and anxiety problems almost disappeared after treatment. I managed to comfortably apply and get into McGill by the end of my time in CEGEP. If I had followed Medipsy's advice, I would still be taking 70 weekly dollar life coaching sessions from them with no medication and no diagnosis. I probably wouldn't even be in McGill. My experience of Medipsy was as an expensive boondoggle designed to fleece rich Westmount parents/children out of their money rather than address the root cause of the patient's issues. If you think you might have ADD and are thinking about getting evaluated here, go somewhere else.

I discovered Medipsy, and more particularly Dr. Marilyn Fitzpatrick's practice, through a close friend's referral. I cannot express enough my most profound appreciation for my therapy experience provided by Dr. Fitzpatrick. Over the course of 3 months and more than a dozen sessions, I can honestly say that doing so was one of the best decisions I ever made for my personal health / life. The Medipsy team is prompt and professional and the location is highly accessible and convenient. Highly recommended!
