STAY AWAY! FAKES! Sharyn Scott knowingly sells fakes as was the case for my partner who purchased a Valentino accessory that was proven fake upon inspection at the Valentino boutique. I am disgusted.

Many of these outdated reviews do not reflect the consistant quality Sharyn Scott has offered her clientele for over 30 years. They were written by two people holding a grudge (out of the tens of thousands she has pleased over the decades!) I heard of ONE isolated incident where a handbag (yes a “fake”) was brought in for consignment. It was a very good fake and unfortunately it slipped through the cracks. When it was discovered Sharyn Scott reimbursed the client immediately. Sharyn Scott is very well know and respected in the Montreal community and has won a humanitarian award for the outstanding contributions she has made to the young, the homeless and the mentally challenged. In over 30 year I can’t imagine anyone, in any business who has not had something bad happen — how perfect everyone must be to never commit a mistake! Her boutique is warm and delightful and offers an array of thoughtfully selected high end designer clothing and accessories. There is something for every budget and you can find here here with her beautiful dog Harry chatting away with the many who come by for just a visit. Love this place!

When I walked in, the two shop girls- one being the proprietor- were deep in a very loud conversation with the only other patron in the (recently and dramatically downsized) establishment. The only time I was addressed at all was after Harry, the beautiful golden retriever, greeted me and it was only because his tail was wagging against plastic hangar bags and I think Ms. Scott probably thought I was getting poor all over the used clothing and fake accessories. Ms Scott and the other patron discussed the former's position as a Westmount elected official, the disgracefully low clothing allowance (only 16k CAD) she gets from her employer (the city?), her opponent, the election, and Ms. Scott's lack of business acumen, RSP tax shelters, and a very callous reference to the recently murdered daughter of a shared acquaintance. The assistant shop girl followed me around the store, once or twice with the pretense of hanging an item up but otherwise was very clearly ensuring that I didn't steal something or, as I said, get poor all over the clothes. Had anyone actually spoken to me, I was going to inquire about consigning some of my own couture and bespoke items with them, but I could never abandon them to the type nouveau riche, upstart social climber who is Ms Scott's ideal client. Only those people would be okay paying more for second hand than the item was new (as was the case with multiple items I saw in the store). Having read the reviews about being sold fake bags with fake authentication, it is interesting to note that Ms Scott was, herself, going to authenticate bags for an estate auction.
