We had the most amazing adventure today! Knowing safety regulations are always changing, I wasn’t sure if we could make this happen... but I called the Westport Aquarium to see if there was any way we could visit during our stay. They said they have been doing some renovations during closure (they have been in that very same building for over 60 years) but if we didn’t mind the mess, we could come by for a private tour and help feed the animals! The aquarium itself was unique; for its size, it offered a surprising amount of things to do, see, and touch. The owners were absolutely wonderful. Kathryn was warm and knowledgeable as she lead us through each corridor. It was really special to hear her stories, you can tell she has genuine love for the science and her community. She has a connection with every single creature, and the exhibits have been created and placed with care and intention. I couldn’t be more grateful and delighted with the way they went above and beyond to host a one-of-a-kind experience for us We can’t wait to go back!

We had a really special visit. The kids were ecstatic to watch the fish eat. And the whale skeleton is an awesome addition.

Very al nutural. Not fancy or large but very well-done. They pump seawater from the harbor across the street and take great care of the marine life. They also have a lot of other cool things like microscopes, ducks and crafts. Relatively inexpensive and a good way to pass an hour. Part of a great harbor area with lots of nice shops and restaurants.

Small but cute. The lady who was working things was just the most adorable person. The way she lit up to talk about all the fish was really what made it amazing. If only that 1898 Steinway was playable at the time. I wouldn't have hesitated to stay and play every piece I know. Lol... but the fish were fun to feed, and the ducks, and learning the stories of the skeletons. I'll definitely go again to see how that grey whale skeleton looks all put together.

This is fun place for the whole family. You can feed the fish and ducks here which is fun for kids. It is a small aquarium but the prices are not bad. I definitely will come back.
