I wanted to try this place since I came to Lancaster for uni in 2015! I finally tried it and instantly regretted not visiting sooner. The cafe is really welcoming and the menu is brilliant. Local, good quality ingredients, broad range of choice from soul food to healthy options (all veggie) and lovely staff. Brilliant for veggies, vegans and anyone who likes good food. I got the seitan burger with chips and salad. It was delicious, you can taste the quality of the ingredients! Generous portions (maybe could do with less chips but not complaining!) at a reasonable price

We've been eating at the Whale Tail for more years than I care to remember. The staff are always friendly and the food is always excellent, tasty and fresh. They have a changing menu with some old favourites too. A very relaxing and satisfying meal awaits every visit. Highly recommended for anyone, but for vegetarians like myself and vegans it's the go to place in Lancaster and one of the very best in the North West. As today's visit proved, all the necessary measures are in place regards social distancing and COVID compliancy.

A must visit place for lunch or breakfast. Friendly staff, great taste and value for money. Thai curry with rice and falafel are great options. The place is only vegetarian. Would highly recommend it.
