On July 25, 2020 I called 911 to get help for my legally blind and deaf Sister. I've been her caregiver for near 5 years after three years in a Nursing home that abused her and my Mother. My sister who has no cartilage in her knees was made to walk out the front door to the gurney. She almost fell. She was crying and one Specific paramedic was Rude with a New York accent! Her Hernia is still distended and they cannot do surgery due to the Covid Pandemic. Attached are two bills that we have been harassed to pay on just my Sisters income! During Pandemic. I will not be paying this bill. Medicare does not Say she has any copays!!

I’m very disappointed with the professionalism of the ems. I called about my father and one of the fire fighters wouldn’t come in because he thought there was a domestic dispute. Then they drug my father down the steps and we’re just very nonchalant about getting him to the hospital. It was an emergency. If this is what we can expect when we call them, someone needs to be fired.

They took over 45 minutes to get my grandmother from her house to the hospital, an 11 mile drive. That is an average speed of approximately 15mph. You would think that a service with \Emergency\ in their name would at least approach the speed limit.

I am very unimpressed at the lack of professional courtesy emt and paramedics have towards home health nurses. I have had several encounters and I do everything I can to provide a medication list, allergies, dx, and vital signs. We haven't seen the patient in, say, a week, we walk in and the patient is in need of emergency services, we call 911 and do everything in our power to stabilize our patient with the resources at hand. If you guys would stop blaming the nurse for the condition the patient is in and work together, I'm sure encounters will go more smoothly. I've actually asked several home health nurses across the country how they are treated by emergency personnel, and it's a problem at a national level. We're on the same team. We have the same goal. Let's fix this. Respectfully, Rachel RN
