If you're in the Banner Elk area for any reason, make an excuse to spend an hour at the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster. This is a modern take on the traditional Alpine Slide or Summer Taboggan. Instead of a sled on wheels in a cement flume, this more resembles a single rider roller coaster car on a steel track. But you still control the speed. So you can go store and take in the sights, or go all out and experience the thrills of this exciting coaster. It's a safe and fun experience for all! Highly recommended!!

Super fun. Definitely do the 3 ride bundle. You have 2 weeks to use all 3 however each rider needs their own bundle ( a bundle can't be shared between riders). Cute spot fun ride. There's a coffee shop and gift shop on site as well. Coffee shop had amazing brownies. Great customer service except they don't really answer their phone.

The coaster is a fun ride in a pleasant setting. Kids over a certain height may ride alone. The ride is pretty quick and not sure given the price I would call it a good value. Each car has a break so riders can control speed.

Fun afternoon for my family. Bought the 3x ride ticket each and spent appx. 2 1/2 hours there with a break between each ride. Fast track but you can control your speed. Great staff providing good instructions.

Decided to visit this place on a Saturday afternoon. I want to very clear that this is a very professionally run establishment and I would recommend it to anyone. The area was clean and well maintained and the staff was very friendly. The only critique I can say is the pricing is a bit much. A 3-ride bundle for 1 person is 35, so if coming with a loved one or family, be prepared to spend a chunk of change for about 10-15 minutes of time. Also, although we were informed that 2 adults can not ride together, there were in fact, 2 adults riding together (because they work there is what I was told). Despite the few critiques, this is a must see when in the Boone area.

So much fun!!! Our family of 4 (2 boys, ages 6 and 10) had a blast!! My 10 year old was tall enough but too scared to operate the sled on his own so we doubled up and went three times in a row together. Kids can't stop talking about it! I love how you can control the speed of the sled. With my 6 year old, there were about two points I had to brake a little when we started jerking side to side and it got rough going full blast, but I was pleased that we could go really fast for the thrill and slow down when it got too much. We had reservations and it was still pretty busy but worth the small wait in line. We've been to the area a few times now and are so glad this new attraction is here!!! I'm sure they'll beg to go back. :)

Great people, locally owned and extremely affordable and fun! There is a coffee bar downstairs and the staff are very pleasant and conscious of the local regulations for the COVID. Don't forget to pre-register prior to going!
