Terrible and mismanaged organization. APVA will soon be dissolved for their lack of actual preservation efforts. The restoration of the lighthouse went terribly. They could care less about any of their sites and it shows. Everyday there is a new issue that they are all to passive aggresive to deal with. The amount of work you do here Compared to the amount of respect and communication that you get from the “higher ups” is disgusting. This is a rich persons hobby. They do things when it is convenient to them. They do not care about education or preservation. They do not care about staff. They do not care about the Lighthouse on fort Story. It is extremely disappointing. I hope a new Director of Operations and CEO will be in charge for future development.

The archeologists give tours daily and are wonderfully animated and lively when presenting. I highly recommend this!
