Good for kids
We went here to go sledding as Swallow Cliffs were closed for the season. The sledding hill was not as steep and missing stairs. It was steep and long enough to provide plenty of fun. The missing stairs made it much harder to climb. Still, we had plenty of far and it was a good alternative to Swallow Cliffs.

Cook county finally wised up and put a couple of port-a-potties in the preserves. Probably not enough, but better than forcing people to go in the woods. Otherwise very well maintained woods with wide trails. It's peak fall colors there right about now
It has a long drive but not walkable paths leading from the drive or parking areas. There is a toboggan sledding area visible from 107th Street and accessible near the front of the drive/parking area. One pavilion with picnic tables is available near the top of the toboggan slope. There are much better forest preserve parks within a mile or so in every direction from this one.
Beautiful scenery, hilly and winding. Ideal for a walk or picnic or just relaxing. A pretty large Preserve compared to others. Highly recommend.
Because it is good to run and take a moment to relax.
