Dr K Ray is awesome. She lead to my husband’s diagnosis of leukemia. After being in mobile infirmary for 9 days on iv antibiotics for cellulitis. There were wound care, infectious control , and primary care physicians and nurse practitioners seeing him during the stay. My husband and I told them there was something else going on and they ignored us. After he kept having issues for a couple months. He got an appointment with Dr. Ray . With in 3 days he had a diagnosis.

The medical staff is great. The front desk staff is friendly enough however it is very difficult to get them to follow through with requests. Took 2 months (and like 4 phone calls) to schedule a mammogram...... I asked about it in person twice. They were going to get right back with me. They didn't. Still waiting onto be set up with an ortho surg.

Wilmer Medical Clinic is my primary physician with our insurance. I went to an appointment to see Dr. Dean to have a very simplistic ingrown tow-nail cut out. He said he wasn't equipped to deal with such a "complex" issue and suggested going to a Podiatrist. I expressed that I had several cut out by MD's in the past and it was all of a 5 minute quick procedure. He refused and told me if I didn't want to see a Podiatrist - which I don't consider a "real medical professional" that he could refer me to a Ortho at USA. Needless to say the following day I was a walk-in at Lucedale Community care and saw a CRNP and was painfree within moments with the ingrown toe nail being cut out. Almost a week later Wilmer Medical Clinic called with a referral at which point I told them I no longer needed. I certainly question Dr. Deans compassion and know how relating to the medical field. A week just to receive a referral? They certainly didn't mind collecting their payment to provide no relief. DO BETTER WILMER MEDICAL CLINIC!

Dr Rey did more for me as a physician than my former physician did in a year. She listens to what you say and answers any questions you may have. SHE'S GREAT!

I was incredibly offended today because this has happened EVERY TIME! When I go into a doctor's office I expect the receptionist's to behave the way a receptionist should! There were THREE people at the front desk 3 of them! And not ONE welcomed us and asked for our information (they asked us to be early for paperwork which we were!) We stood there waiting to be helped or ask for information because my daughter was going to be a new patient and they blatantly ignored us and talked amongst themselves as if my daughter and I weren't even standing there! when I finally got their attention they acted as if I were inconveniencing them!!! I am hoping to get a new clinic or doctor for my children so we don't have to be treated in this way again!!! If you want to be acknowledged and treated with the respect you deserve don't go to Wilmer Medical Clinic! I must say all of the doctor's there that I have met so far have been wonderful, but the receptionist need to go find a new job or improve on their skills as a receptionist!

I tried this clinic due to its proximity to my home. The initial visit was everything that I expected. The staff were helpful and polite. The clinic has a good atmosphere... But - I ran into some issues with one of the doctors when they decided to stop my prescription. The clinic staff told me multiple times that the prescription had been called in, or was getting called in. It took one of their on-call doctors to finally tell me that my prescription had been stopped, pending a diagnosis from another doctor... After I was dealing with the withdraws of the medication, at the 11th hour. I had been in communication with the clinic multiple times earlier in the week regarding the prescription. This should not have happened. Your on-call doctor is not your receptionist. After this, I've cancelled all future appointments and have moved to a different doctor. Due to the lack of internal communication. This is a very specific situation. So I'm not saying that these guys are bad... Just make sure that you research your symptoms properly before asking a general practitioner for help.. Know the differences in specializations between GPs and, what I actually needed, an Internist.
