I wouldn't recommend Blais Construction at all. We hired them in early 2016 to redo our basement and bathroom. Work started in early March. We were told it would take 4-6 weeks. We figured it would take twice that. Eight months later, we paid them off to get them out of our lives once and for all. Not everything was finished, but what was left was easy enough for us to deal with on our own. Very disorganized, poor communication and scheduling, and workmanship was lacking. Very unprofessional. So much went wrong, I couldn't possibly list it all. I am not sure how they have been in business for 40 years if this is how they do things. Very stressful and disappointing experience for my family. I would give them a very generous 1.5 out of 5 stars.

The worst experience my family has had to deal with. A six week job turned into 4 months after which we terminated our business with them due to breach of contract, poor workmanship, and lack of professionalism. The submitted drawing specified a “10” concrete block” within the foundation wall. An eight inch concrete block was used instead. The submitted drawing specified a “bituminous damp proofing” within the foundation wall which was not completed. The submitted drawings indicated that the new weeping tile would “connect to existing” weeping tile. This was not completed. The lack craftmanship and skill in the job that was completed on the brick was unfathomable to us and that Blais Construction would approve the final result. The finished product is messy, inconsistent and not the work of a skilled bricklayer. The mortar work is sloppy, the brick laying is uneven, the walls are not level, and they even placed chipped bricks into the wall.
