Make sure you visit August 19, in the morning. Every year they have a very well done and respectful service to commemorate the sacrifice made on the beach at Dieppe France. It actually gets pretty crowded. Also, the memorial has an interesting feature. If there’s a clear sunny day, during the time the Canadian soldiers occupied the beach in 1942, the sun shines through the memorial on to the maple leaf on the ground. It’s an interesting effect and a rather clever way to memorialize the event. Get there early. Parking can be tight. There’s plenty of parking around, but it might mean having to walk several blocks.

This area is well maintained, well respected and always cleaned by City Parks staff.
I love all the flags. The view, the breeze. The crowd. God Bless The Troops.
Great spot to spend some time along the river.
It's incorrect. Tha black monument pictures are memorial of Dieppe Raid known as red beach. This is not the silver cross memorial.
On the river front
