This museum is really interesting. Well worth a visit. We particularly enjoyed the movie about the war of 1812, it was funny and informative.

It's free, and the exhibits were interesting. It's mostly about how the local area came into existence as we know it now. They have some permanent exhibits and some that change occasionally. Definitely worth it if you like to visit something other than the large, "mainstream" museums. It's a good spot to warm up on cooler days, too.

Thank you, thank you thank you Windsor Community museum for being small, simple and sensational in all the right ways. You were easy to mentally digest because of your layout & design, among ither things, and here is why... The Museum was housed in an actual house. It had stately, regal decor and a freshly painted, clean, modern bathroom. All areas were wheelchair accessible and smelled good too. The volunteer guide was attentive, and pleasantly positive with a big smile. The house was built by a "big deal" local in 1812 who went by the name of, get this Francois Baby! Many of the domestic items from that time were on display in a way that it made me feel like I was visiting a friendly and prominent relative that I never knew but recently learned of. Overall this museum was in a great location, had a gregarious guide, with delightful domestic items on display in a well maintained actual house off the beaten path. Nice air conditioning as a bonus. A must see when in this part of the world.

GREAT location and the museum has 3 floors of displays rotating galleries and permanent exhibits. DON'T MISS the spectacular view of the riverfront and skyline of Detroit from the porches on the North side of building off the 3rd floor. This was the collection originally from the Willistead Gallery in Walkerville we all enjoyed as kids. There is an interactive room for children with crafts and photo ops,

This was fun to go and learn the history of Windsor. The War of 1812 exhibit was my favorite.
