This place is a little piece of peaceful heaven. We enjoyed our two days here very much and wish we had stayed longer. The hosts were incredibly sweet and accommodating and the breakfast is bespoke, delicious and local. They hosts own a local bed/bedding company so the beds here are super comfortable - we slept the best in our life and convinced ourselves that we need a new bed ;) we’ll be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Batenborg. Combined with the calming nature of Winsum, right outside Groningen, this beautiful B&B is definitely worth a visit. The family Geertsema has turned an old noble house into a warm and welcoming home for their guests. Every corner of the house shows how much love and effort they put into this place. The rooms have an antique and elegant charm which blends in with modern facilities. Beyond comfortable beds, a rich breakfast with homemade apple juice and a cosy fireplace, it is foremost the hospitality and generosity we received that made this stay so special. This place has much history which the family is more than happy to share with their guests. We want to thank the family for a great stay. We will definitely come back.
The rooms are very big and you can rent canoes for free!!!

Een prachtige borg in het wijdse Groningse land. Lieve en warme mensen.
Je verblijft in een prachtig mooie en grote kamer met super goed bed (2,2 x 2) met 4 grote vensters waardoor je een fenomenaal uitzicht hebt op de natuur. Het is een vernieuwde hoevewoning waar de eigenaars terecht fier op zijn en die graag delen gasten. Je krijgt er een lekker ontbijt bij en uitleg over de regio. Zeker een aanrader.
