We drove an hour from Atlanta to get take-out food from Wok Star! We ordered assorted beef as our appetizer, hot spicy boiled fish, Mongolian beef, shredded pork with tofu noodles & peppers, and fried rice as our entrees. Let me just say I regret eating my lunch that day because I wish I had more room in my stomach! We loved all the dishes so much that even though we ordered plenty and thought we would have left overs, we finished everything in one setting. (Probably should have ordered more!) Everything was cooked just right and the flavors were incredibly satisfying. The hot spicy boiled fish was very tender and juicy and paired particularly well with the fried rice. The vegetables tasted very fresh too! The service was fantastic too. The owner was very considerate, friendly, responsible and cooked everything with our arrival time in mind so we didn't have to wait. They were also very proactive about practicing social distancing and wore gloves and masks, which in this pandemic made me feel a lot safer and respected. I wish I didn't live so far away! Highly highly recommend and next time I'm in Athens I will surely be ordering from Wok Star again!

The food is great. You can get authentic Chinese dishes here. You also will pay more than a typical American Chinese restaurant. You can get good deals from restaurant. c o m and through Verizon to help cover the cost. We ordered 4 different dishes and were very pleased with our orders but there were no leftovers, which is very unusual for us when we get Chinese takeout. The portions are not the typical size for the price. The food is not so much better than typical takeout that I can justify paying their prices regularly. If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up. Thanks!

They do make authentic Chinese dishes here. But the portion is on the small side, and some dishes are quite sad. The steamed pork with rice flour is just so old it's probably frozen for a long time. We heard the chef went back to China recently and may or may not return. The owner made the dishes for us. I surely hope the chef will return. The old man server is great, but the place is quite unkempt and layout is poor. Probably won't return.

What a pleasure it was to taste a wonderfully peppery hot and sour soup. If you are going to cheat on keto this will shun the the wintery moments. Watching the sunset from the corner end booths enjoying the darling server with her Crewe/English-German accent was a solid part of the experience. The melt in your mouth, Chinese pot roast perfectly seasonned, along with the chicken eggplant interspersed with bitetful of daikon radish, were impeccable. Highly recommend!!! Madison
