So the lady that called me and told me i was high risk was the secretary of the this obgyn i visited. I signed an information release form so she could access my records. Well after i visited there two hours later i get a call from the secretary saying that the doctor cant accept me because im high risk. And that there are several reasons im high risk. And told me that id have to find a high risk doctor. So after freaking out and waiting for uhc obgyn to pick up the phone i finally got a reply from a nurse who said that i am not high risk. There are no records of being high risk and then she asked where i got the information from. And i told her womans care in fairmont wv. So she called them back and i called them back. I confronted the secretary about it and she tried to lie and say \ i never said that\ and i said um yes you did i was a part of the conversation and ive been sitting here for hours worried about my baby because you lied to me\ then she said whatever the doctor says goes if he says your high risk in his eyes not my problem\ and hung up then i called uhc and told them what happened and apparently since i have medicaid they didnt accept me because im not rich. And that its a private dr. So i just got lied to and discriminated against because i have unicare. And then the lady at uhc was super nice made me an appointmeent for a different one in fairmont. And she said sorry aboht me having to go through all of that. And that womans care was so rude and lied to me about being high risk. I didnt even have high blood pressure Womans care lied and made it up .
I walked in for an appointment (with an appointment card with the correct date and time on it), and they didn’t have me in their system, which has happened in the past, so their scheduling system is pathetic. Because of them having to book another annual appointment, because they didn’t have menin their schedule, my prescription for my birth control pills was late which caused me to have an extremely irregular period. Also, I told the doctor I did not want a test, and she said that it was standard practice, then I receive a bill in the mail the next month for 140 for the test I originally didn’t want, and now I am paying for. I called the office multiple times and explained the billing situation, and they said they had used the wrong billing code and would fix it. After I didn’t receive another EOB with the corrected statement, I called again. After multiple attempts of getting it fixed, I visited the office and they faxed the bill to LabCorp to have it fixed AGAIN. Then 4 months later received an “outstanding bill” from Labcorp. This is after the woman in billing at the office realized she also did not get another EOB for my test, knowing that she should receive one soon after faxing it to LabCorp the last time, but didn’t think to follow up with them after not receiving an EOB again. I ended up paying the 140 hoping it didn’t affect my credit. Long story short, I’m not longer a patient here.
The best care providers and most compassionate staff. I love my nurse practitioner and really appreciate the friendly and caring demeanor of everyone I've come into contact with!
