Yue Li Irene attended to me when I came into the bank branch at BMO (Weston and Major Mack) to sort out issues with my bank card. She was engaging and went above and beyond to help me, including sending follow on emails to give me updates. She represents what great customer service means; helping the customer and making them feel like they really matter.

Extremely disappointed with BMO. I usually do my etfs and mutual funds through bmo so I have decent money saved up with you guys. I have been trying to increase my cheque deposit hold limit from last couple of days but no change. Initially I used bmo help line but they requested me to visit a branch. I visited major mac/weston location only to hear from the teller that they should processed over the phone. Fortunately, the teller arranged a phone discussion for next day with a person from management. I spoke to a financial advisor from this location and she said there won’t be any hold on 1000 but anything above that will go on 1 business day hold. I wasn’t comfortable with it so she promised me to expect a call from her in few hours or the very next day(Friday) as she got to discuss this with her manager. No call so far(Monday). To clear my doubts about this situation, I deposited another cheque and apparently there is no change or attention to my request as the whole cheque went on 5 business day hold and only got 68 released. If BMO got thousands of dollars from me into investments then why is there a hold on few hundred dollars cheque? I did mention to the financial advisor about my intentions of leaving bmo and go to RBC or Scotia. Clearly bmo is okay with it.

He took what was in my mind a daunting and complex process and ensured that I was comfortable and had a firm grasp on what was going on at all times. I give the highest recommendation and believe all students should be gifted with the same customer service that I have received at BMO.
