We took our daughter's 2014 Ford Focus in for service last month. The "check engine light" was on and it was occasionally shuddering. Specific transmission hardware and parts are covered under extended warranty. We were immediately told by one of the technicians that the part may not be covered, but they would run diagnostics and follow-up with us. Later that day, a technician called to advise that the car needed a new transmission and it was not covered by the extended warranty. Needless to say, we were flabbergasted! After 2 days of back and forth conversations with 2 different technicians, who only gave us 2 options - (1) new transmission, or (2) transmission overhaul - we decided to take the car to another Ford dealership for a second opinion. The 2nd Ford dealership immediately diagnosed the issue as a faulty transmission control module, which IS covered under warranty. We drove the car home later that day and have had no issues since then. I sent an email to the service manager at Ace Ford, along with a copy of the service invoices from Ace Ford recommending new transmission or overhaul, as well as the service invoice from the other Ford dealership showing the repair work for the TCM. I never received the courtesy of a response to my email. In addition to this, earlier this year, I took my son's 2018 Ford Focus to Ace Ford because the interior overhead light was not working and I was charged over 700 because they told me it was an electrical issue, which took time to diagnosis, etc. I wish I would've taken his car for a 2nd opinion before paying. I now have no faith in the competency of the technicians at this dealership. I'll drive the few extra miles to Turnersville or Cherry Hill to get our cars serviced in the future.
They resolved an issue with my Ford Escape. I recommend them when you don't have any other choice!
