The McHenry County Fairgrounds host all kinds of activities throughout the year, but they shine the brightest during the annual summer Fair. This year, local businesses and exhibitors banded together to raise money to pave the formally all-gravel pathways. This made a huge difference in the amount of dust and dirt being kicked up, and also made the fairgrounds much more accessible for those with mobility difficulties, or those using wheelchairs or strollers. It was definitely money well spent!

The board members who authorized the Ted Nugent appearence should be ashamed of themselves. It's not what he has previously said but what he called the residents of Mchenry County recently. This is not what Mchenry county is about and to allow someone to refer to us as scum bags and make horrible comments is not acceptable. All 22 board members were elected, please remember that. We also don't have to patronize any of the businesses that sponsor the fair.
