I think the Chamber and the town have done a fantastic job making this place an attraction. But as a child of the 60s, I feel like I should say - the famous festival of the same name did not happen here. Music history, yes - as many artists have lived and worked here. Just FYI But as a place to visit, it's nice. Music in the square. Police, municipal parking attendants, chamber staff . . . all very friendly and helpful. It's a nice vibe. Lots of restaurants in the village. Lots of shops - from upscale to typical gimmicky tourist kinds of things. The day we visited there was a flea market in a park down one of the side streets. Nice market - crafts, jewelry, locally grown produce.

It is a cute little mini-house chamber and visitors center with extremely helpful person there to answer any questions you have. Right off the main drag of Woodstock which is a blast from the past. I do believe some of the people that never left Woodstock and just live there today. And then of course they play it up as well. You must stop in if you can.
