Best hill station for people who look for low budget trip. Not to crowded at the same time close to Chennai. If you are planning to spend your weekends with family / friends then my recommendation would be Yelagiri.
A place to enjoy by staying a night. Natural park and musical fountain very fine
Lovely place. Only 4 hours drive from Chennai offers a quick getaway from city life. Hill station, not very cold like Yercaud or Ooty. Pleasant weather through out the year. Good hotels and restaurants. Not a lot of places to visit. A few good treks are there. You can exhaust them in 2 or 3 days. Nice place to just relax and chill out.

The Yalagiri hills easily accessible it's good for bike riders, there is 3 to 4 places to see as there is rose garden, nature park(7pm they have musical fountain), Raja Rani park, lake where you can go boating, and for adventure there is thrill Vally where you can try some adventure games. If you are looking for more there is not more options there is 14pin crosses that's good to enjoy by bike ride.
You should never come without a backup plan.. Like you need to book rooms. You bring your own food if possible. Views are good. Have even small necessary items like bedsheets
Good place for peace lovers,but for vegetarians it's hell.Not found a single restaurant of pure vegetarian food.so vegetarians must carry their own food.
