My 8 year old son Seb and I are making a concerted effort to visit as many torrs as we can. An motivation I have challenged him to hike to the torrs and he is leaving a small rock with his name on it to prove he has been there. We are the taking a photo and challenging friends with kids locate his rock, add their own and challenge someone they know with kids to do the same. Please dont take or throw away any rocks you may find with Seb on them but if you read this before you go please feel free to add it the game. Anything to get kids out and into the fresh air is a good thing as far as I am concerned. Visited sheeps Torr (pixies cave)18/4/21
A great place for a night under the stars kept company by some noisy sheep
Home sweet home... love this place
Beautiful place
Great views in a terrific part of the moors
Brilliant beautiful peaceful place.
Gutter tor, found in the Dartmoor national park is within walking distance of the road. The road out is poorly maintained with limited parking and passing places. However once there a short climb to the top gives fine views across to sheepstor and Hentor warren. From the top the old farm house seen towards Drizzle coombe was featured in the film Warhorse, this is easily reached from the track visible as it snakes it easy along the foot of gutter tor.dont be tempted to cut a direct route to the house as a legendary Dartmoor mire lurks in your path. Keep to the path!
