The Rose Tower Located in Barwick , Somerset , England. It is probably erected by John Newman, and it's the most spectacular of the four follies set on the cardinal point axes through Barwick House. A folly is a building constructed primarily for decoration. It was built in the 1770s , from local stone rubble with Ham stone ashlar. Circular podium of about 4 metres diameter and 0.6 metres high, on which stands a hollow circular drum, about 4-metres high, pierced with three pointed arches with bands of rectangular openings at about 1.25 metres intervals, the top 2-metres being in fine ashlar with a ball finial, the whole being approximately 20-metres high.

The Rose Tower (also known as Messiter's Cone) is a Grade II Listed Building and stands adjacent to the western boundary of Barwick Park at a point about 430m north-west of Barwick parish church. The tower was probably erected for John Newman in about 1775. It is about 20m high, constructed from rubble and Ham stone ashlar, comprising a circular stone drum pierced by three gothic arched openings facing north, east, and south, above which rises a conical spire pierced by small rectangular openings and surmounted by an ashlar band and ball finial. This structure has been described as the 'most spectacular' of the Barwick Park follies and unique in Britain.
