The Church of Saint Martin of Tours in West Coker is a Grade II Listed Building. The first recorded Rector was in 1313, but the church was mostly rebuilt in 1863-64 from local Hamstone. There are many interesting features, including a monument to the daughters of Sir John Portman, one of whom died in 1661, consisting of two kneeling figures in an arched recess. The stair turret on the north side of the tower contains two rare lancet windows glazed with horn.
