Amazing hot chocolate and the text to order system is genius. Lots of rainbow flags but they didn't disturb me. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Had a nice coffee and cake here for four. Coffee was really good, but not exceptional, the cakes were lovely, as were the staff, and the decor and atmosphere was indeed cozy. Only minor complaints were that our order came very staggered (my cappuccino arrived five minutes before everyone else's and then our last coffee arrived five minutes after everyone else) and the cakes were a little on the expensive side. However I would definitely still recommend this place for anyone wanting to have a pleasant cuppa in York.
The drinks (tea, hot chocolate, shakes, smoothies etc) are really good and the desserts and cakes look great. In fact, I love hot chocolate and the one here is fabulous if you like hot chocolate. I can see that it would be a good place to hang out though hanging out anywhere during Covid is less appealing than normal. They are very Covid aware and have really good precautions in place. In terms of the main food items... it's good quality ingredients, fresh etc but it's frankly dull and not a lot of flavour. That applies to the three different dishes my group ordered today. Both our table and the table behind us had slightly incorrect orders despite the fact you have to text your order from your table meaning it's hard to understand how they get orders incorrect. So, I will go back here for drinks and cakes (it's 4 star review on that basis) but I wouldn't order main dishes from here again as they just were dull (3 stars for those).
We popped in for a quiet drink on a Sunday evening. The Gatsbyesque decor makes you feel like you're back in time while enjoying your drinks. The food menu looked great too.
Large pub, described by a local as an upscale Wetherspoons, comfortable seating, nicely decorated, friendly staff. Dropped in for a hot drink just after they opened, didn't eat so can't comment on food, but menu was inviting. Would think it gets quite busy at night.

So lovely!! Great coffee, music and vibe. Also really appreciated the effort they went to for Covid safety. Found my new fav place in York :)
