I have had the worst experience with Mattamy mortgage company . They offered me a rate of 5.125% interest in November 2018 and I am 24 days from closing and they claim I still qualify at 5.125%. I don’t know if anyone follows the rates but with the government shutdown and the economy being a little shaky , the interest rates have also dropped and are way under 5%. I feel like they don’t care about working with me and trying to offer me a competitive interest rate . I went to another mortgage company and I was offered a 4.875% interest and the best mattamy could do is offer half a point from 5.125%. I don’t think mattamy has competitive rates and I would not recommend them as a mortgage company . This process has been a nightmare for me and I can’t wait for it to end soon , even though I feel cheated in the interest rate .
Hands down the worst company I have ever dealt with. There are a few people that I found to be honest and straight forward, but as a whole? Zero! I found the senior vice President (Mr. Appleman) and the people underhim to be less than ethical and service oriented. I feel like an idiot because as a 48 yr old veteran who has seen the world and KNEW better than to TRUST this billion company that they would follow through with what is fair and honest. 45 days after I close I feel like I just got taken by a few cheap used cars salespeople. If you deal with any Mattamy person do yourself a favor and have it put it writing. These people are well trained to stroke you until you sign the dotted line and then after that every verbal, email, or face to face assurance That Mattamy will always do the right thing goes OUT the window. If you see a top rating, question it. I have not met one single satisfied home owner since I have moved here. Mattay’s word and a hand shake mean nothing!
