The food here is exceptionally good. Whole family was happy. Fried whiting was perfect. Collards were perfect. Coleslaw was perfect and savory (exactly how I like it! No sweet coleslaw for me!). Our server was very kind, and the atmosphere was pleasant and super clean. We will be back ASAP!

My daughter and I have been hearing about this spot for a while. We have been wanting to try it. As soon as we walked in the door the staff was super friendly. Helpful explaining the menu. The food was fantastic. We ordered a little bit of everything and shared everything. All of the food was spot on and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

This is one of my favorite places to buy greens. I love the staff here. The young people here are very courteous & friendly. The Yams and Collard greens are my favorites. The fish is delicious. This is by far the best soul food restaurant in York Pa.

At one time this was the Stockade Bar and the property has greatly improved with the Skillet2Plate Soul Bistro. The wife and I went in Saturday night and have to say service was slow but I saw so many large orders going out the door that I understood why and sat there patiently. Our drinks were brought out without a wait and I must say you can't eat here without trying their peach tea with slices of peach..! Prices are reasonable here so we took advantage with two meals and several side dishes. We traded main dishes a couple times and were in and out of our sides and soup. Chicken peppers and brown rice and chicken and waffles were delightful and no complaints with the sides. I will go back to try their brisket and their crab cakes at least. Hmmm... a cheesesteak with salmon..? Hope that's available on lunch menu..! We were very satisfied..! P.S. They did apologize to me for the wait... wasn't needed..! Good people here..!

I expected the food to be good; but the flavor combinations in my peppered steak, cabbage/collar greens and Mac and cheese sides, carried me back to a time when I younger, down south, with friends, tasting soul food for the first time. Flavor explosions! Except this is actually better! This meal was beyond the country soul food I fell in love with. It must be lovingly prepared by a food artist! Corn Bread Boom! Red Velvet Cake? None better! Every bite of the whole meal was appreciated. Ps. The staff was big smile friendly too!

Heard about this through my friend/brother he had pepper steak that was the truth so i had to go back to try something else i ordered the lemon pepper grilled salmon w/Rice, Mac and cheese plus Yams. And i will be back again haven't had yams like that since my granny passed a 1,000 dollar plate for only 18.50 keep rocking much love #blessings

Best local soulfood since G's jook joint. The chicken and fish are phenomenal! The chicken oil was a little too hot and the chicken got dark, but was still cooked perfectly. The greens were delicious, but a tad saltier than I prefer. The baked mac was amazing. The yarns were heavily seasoned and delicious, reminded me of Christmas. The crab soup was creamy and good, just wish the crab had been more substantial... definitely not your expected pasteurized flavor in a noncoastal city. All in all, these people know what they're doing and have a few new regulars. Well done to the Bryant family!!!
