Although the secretaries are wonderful, the very few psychiatrists, both women in Lebanon , are rude and uncaring and do not even try to understand how bad my anxiety is. They are pompous and treat you like, “I am destined for childbirth. What’s your problem?” Just like all women doctors. ”Nothing is worse than childbirth,” they think. Well, at least you know childbirth will end. My anxiety doesn’t end after however many hours. My husband has dementia and can’t be left alone, yet “Dr.” Kathleen Elnaggar expects me to drive 45 minutes each way at least twice a week for some therapy. Since I told her I cannot leave my husband alone, she refused to give me medication for my anxiety. Unfortunately for me, Philhaven is the only place close to me. I’m going to have to find someone else for my anxiety due to my husband’s dementia . They don’t even try to help. And don’t call on a Friday afternoon. They are all gone except for the secretaries. STAY AWAY from Philhaven if possible!! Less than one star review.

Once you get the flow with scheduling, I have been pleased with the help available to me.

Dr. Muneses is an amazing doctor that should have his own practice. He is knowledgeable, intuitive, hard-working, and skilled at what he does. Everyone else, though, behaves in a way that is so counterintuitive to helping someone with mental health/addiction problems. With manipulative and specific rules about missing, rescheduling, cancelling, and being late for appointments, this business is clearly just that — a business with concern for profitability and NOT with improving people’s lives. My well-being always feels like an afterthought and I have been spoken to condescendingly countless times. (Definitely not conducive to improving my poor self-image.) While few receptionists are absolutely kind and helpful, I have had so many experiences with receptionists being rude, impatient, careless, and condescending towards me. All in all, this is the OPPOSITE of what a place for troubled individuals should be. Unfortunately, Wellspan has a monopoly and there is a shortage of psychiatrists, so I am forced to continue to give them my business in order to get the treatment and medication that I need to function and SURVIVE. I walk out feeling more unhappy and wanting to do more drugs every. Single. Time. Periodt.

First and foremost, it's a behavioral health facility. They offer counseling with therapists and they are able to diagnose behavioral health issues such as depression, bipolar, drug and alcohol issues, etc. There are doctors/psychiatrist who, if it's recommended, can prescribe medications. They are accepting new patients. Its very easy to find, its very close to the York Hospital, maybe about a mile or less from the hospital. There is plenty of parking with handicap parking available. Its in a little strip mall, directly beside the Dollar General. The entrance itself is handicap friendly. The lobby is very clean, spacious, has adequate seating. There are four check-in windows (though they're not always all manned/staffed), and they do offer bilingual services. After checking in the most you wait to be seen is 15 minutes and depending in why you're being seen, after being called back there is either no wait time or the most you again wait is 15 minutes. I have been a patient for about 8 years and the office staff have always been friendly, professional and helpful. I love my therapist and my psychiatrist. That being said, this office is a very busy and big practice and is a little understaffed. Because of this scheduling can sometimes be a bit of an annoyance because of the scheduling availability. They offer and have a great amount of services that are available and that are very helpful. I will continue to be a patient here.
