Nice observatory to look at the beautiful city of Beppu. You can see the mountains and the smokes from the onsens. Nice place to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. There's a nice parking where you can sit in your car and view the scenery.

This is a brilliant spot to check out the myriad of steam emissions spewing out from the many rooftops of the onsens (hot pools ) hotels you have visited in town. This town is famous for it's free or natural hot pool water, available at most hotels or rest spots throughout this town. If you visited this place, chances are you have access to a hot pool straight from your hotel.
It is a nice place to catch the scene.
