Zinal, Switzerland

Beautiful village. Expensive as the rest of Switzerland. I'd recommend to buy lunch at the super market instead of buying pasta for 30. We went up on the mountain with the cable car in the summer and really enjoyed the view.

The 46th EUY Congress in Zinal got off to a rousing start yesterday evening at the Opening Ceremony, which included mantra chanting, a concert by Naren and Sarada (who will be back on stage on Wednesday) and presentation of the week's teachers. This morning, all the senses were alert as participants headed to the early morning practices - feeling, smelling and tasting the crisp morning air, hearing the sound of the river, seeing the crescent moon still in the sky and the tops of the grey mountains sharply etched against the skyline. Nathalie Moulis's session took as its guiding thread the Yoga Sutras, in particular the development of concentration and stability, leading to meditation. These two elements were skilfully explored through a close focus on the breath, dynamic sequences, balance poses and practices such as brahmari and nadi sodhana.
Small but authentic resort with interesting runs and many freeride possibilities.
Passed through on our hike. Pretty mountain village with lots of character, stores, etc
Since the ZInal skiarea is connected to Grimentz, it is a perfect place
Wonderfull at that time of year, except for the -30C
