Wonderful old industrial complex, where they once produced a beautiful blue pigment based on cobalt. The ore was mined in the nearby Skuterud Cobalt Mines. Interesting displays on the whole proces, and beautiful ceramics and glass objects. These pictures were taken in 2010 during a seminar for museum professionals who in some kind of way specialize in mining history or geology (like me).

Really nice experience. Cobalt mines are amazing and very well explained by the guidance. Perfect plan for kids and for spending a day off around nature.
Wonderful place. You can leave your car on the parking lot naxt to the main road, free of charge. Have a meal in the nearby pub and buy some souvenirs in the shop, which is really close to the pub. Going down you will see viewpoint where you can take cool photos. Down the patch is a lot of place where you can set your blanket and have a good time. Perfect place for families.
Enjoyable place — especially with children. The kids love the petting zoo which includes lots of free roaming goats, sheep, chickens and cows to name a few. Try the self propelled raft at the bottom of the waterfall (look for a sign for M/S Nøkken) if you’d like a fun adventure and a slight workout with a unique view of the waterfall — There is no charge and life vests are in the crate on the raft. Free parking and EV charging is a nice bonus as well.
The kids can run around on the big lawns while the parents can go shopping or look at art. Also nice free of charge toilets. Free electric car 3,6kw chargers
A beautiful place, just an hour's drive from Oslo, filled with enchanting vistas and interesting history. The only downer is that the site is not reliable as regards opening hours...call before you set out.
Every visit is better than the previous. Great place for children and learning a little bit about the old days.
A must visit if you're in the area! Be sure to visit the mines as well! Highly recommended.
