I was so excited to try this place since I have only heard good things about it. The food was average and quite pricey. Sadly I could taste in the fish and the bread some sort of universal krydd like Knorr or something that gives all food the same taste... however the waiters were nice and the armosphere as well.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! Probably best value for money in fine dining in Iceland. Great service, nice staff, cozy place that offers some of the best dishes from Iceland.
The restaurant serves delicious Icelandic dishes. You can eat very good cod or halibut and also lamb, smoked puffin or horse. I love this restaurant and definitely recommend it!
The hashed fish is amazing - a must try! Not quite enough bread for the amount of hashed fish though. The white bread we got at the start of the meal was dry and store bought - I would expect better of a restaurant. The waiter had not tried the raw whale and couldn’t answer my questions about the taste. She told me, she thought it probably tastes like fish. Which was definitely NOT the case. It’s like eating raw liver. The plating of the puffin was absolutely horrible - looks like snails on a plate. The lamb was great!
I've eaten here on two visits that were 10 years apart. The food at 3 Frakkar has been one of my most memorable parts of visiting Iceland. If you want to experience true Icelandic fine dining, this is the place. Expect lots of different meats and seafood. Everything is deliciously prepared.
It is pricey but worth it. The food is so delicious. The seabird blew me away. I will definitely eat here again.
Awesome is all that needs to be said. The ambience is warm and cosy. The food was soooo delicious. The whale sashimi was yummy. The flavour was so rich. The finn whale steak was perfect. The mixed seafood gratin was amazing. I would have given 6 stars if that is possible. Very reasonable price for food of this quality.
