I was surprised that this restaurant was not crowded at all being that it is located in this most popular tourist area. Not an expert in this cusine, ordered some of the more popular dishes. They all were pretty good, fresh tasting and ingredients. I wish there were more of us so that we could try some of the dishes that are well-known, but really large in size, for group sharing.

Kid friendly! Food and service are all good!
Excellent pan-fried pork liver, tasty! Fresh bamboo shoots. For two, an order of the house special chicken soup with fried turnip(?) was tasty but too much, and the chicken in such a preparation was not intended to be appreciated as chicken should. Overall, still a good experience in Taipei.
Good place for Hakka food. Quite authentic but beware of the soups, they tend to be quite expensive.
This restaurant has been in the district for a long time, but we never thought about visiting it in the past years for unknown reasons. Maybe because it looks too common. After reading the reviews online, we decided to give it try, and it turned out to be one of the good restaurants in this district on our list! We love the “must eat stinky tofu”, it served with fried thousand-year-old egg and tasted very good. Their “Hakka stir fry” is good, too! The portion of dishes is standard, not too big not too small. The prices of the dishes are standard and reasonable, too. Actually, the prices are more likely fair compared to other pricey restaurants in this tourist hot spot. I am not a Hakka, but the food they serve are authentic Hakka cuisine I think. The dishes are salty and thoroughly favored, typical Hakka style. Kids also love the dishes, they even ate two bowls of rices! Few reminders, 1. Cash only 2. 10% service fee 3. Free hot tea
Food is really good. The environment is inevitably noisy. If you are seeking for a place where you could chat with a bunch of friends, this may not be the one. The service is really attentive. However, the price is also not cheap. What you see on the menu is small portion. 1.5x for medium, 2x for big. When you have 6 people, you are going to order big portion and the price is going to double. My own feeling, even its big portion, I still feel it’s really not big at all. Not to mention the price is doubled... The food is really delicious. But if you are seeking for a place where you can chat and don’t want to spend too much money, this might not be the most suitable place for you.
Food is tasty for classic and traditional Hakka dishes and service is rapid, while staffs are relatively friendly. The restaurant does charge 10% service fee, but price overall is reasonable. The restaurant is somewhat simple family style restaurant and in simple design.
If you did not come this place, please do not say about Taiwan even one word. super super super fancy fooooood
