Well where to begin... The décor...is dated and I have eaten at many Japanese restaurants but it felt cold and had no atmosphere. The waitress costumes are great but I didn't pay 350 for fancy outfits. The food...bland bland bland. The only dish with taste was the various sauces for the sashimi The miso seabass was ok but why serve such a loveles dish with a slice of dried sweet potato and a slimy okra? It ruined the dish and has no place on that plate. The paper thin sirloin was served in a broth of water and veg, absolutely flavourless. We really thought someone is playing a joke on us as never ever had we experience Japanese food with zero taste. The service...took 5minutes and and 2 attempts to ask for the English menu. The waitresses are really friendly but this is not Michelin star service. Overall I would never go back because it's impossible to justify that amount spent on tasteless food If you want a true Japanese experience then chef Ken (ex okura hotel chef) at EN restaurant in Amsterdam delivers this for a fraction of the cost. Really sorry but I wanted to like Yamazato but they failed in every way.

Absolutely amazing. Every dish is great, nice staff, cozy atmosphere. Sake pairing is definitely worth trying. Want to taste Japan in the middle of Amsterdam? This place is your choice for sure
Amazing Japanese restaurant - I lived in japan for seven years as a kid and found it all to be excellent. I did sashimi after sashimi. Chiharu was our waitress and she was awesome - highly recommended
Perhaps the best meal I had in my entire life. Great ambiance and atmosphere. Great service.
Delicious food, beautiful place, and amazing staff! Most importantly are their health and safety measures following C19.. But what a great place to have our lunch at now that life is (almost) back to normal :) Thank you Yamazato (especially for the wonderful anniversary desert surprise) and it wont be too long before we come back for more of your goodness!
