10/11/2020 In Kyoto for a long weekend and we decided to drop by for lunch. As always the food and service was excellent! Although the restaurant was a little busy the tables are well separated so we could maintain social distance. I’m looking forward to the next time! Autumn 2019 I live in Tokyo and try to visit here every time I come to Kyoto. This was the first time to have dinner rather than lunch and it didn’t disappoint. The food was fantastic as always and the service was warm and welcoming. I also love how much choice there is on the wine list. Next time I hope to try the terrace on the river in the summer.

I live in Kyoto and visit this restaurant about once a year or so. The food is always amazing and the service is wonderful! The star of the show is the steak but the curry is also strongly recommended. The red wines offered pair nicely with the meal as well. On my most recent visit, I was impressed that they had personalized the menu with our family name (we made a reservation the day before). I was also impressed with how well the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our three-year-old son with a special-made meal and ice cream. Looking forward to next time!
Excellent! Some of the negative reviews from English speaking guests are interesting... as we were treated so well with not a word of Japanese although we were very friendly and apologetic for our language barrier. We had a private tatami room and set menu which made it easier and it was a fantastic experience, even with a baby! The beef was the highlight, although the knife and fork for one dish was a shame. Otherwise very authentic and great (small) wine list. Staff went above and beyond all night for us. Worth the money.
I used here in November. The lunch is beautiful you can choose some main beef menu like steak or Hamburg. You can drink matcha green tea. There are only 6 tables so if you want to go please make a reservation.(especially dinner) Sight is also beautiful you can see Kamogawa river during your cuisine.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly service. Thank you very much for the wonderful meal! We will definitely be coming back for more.
